Bank, one of your best posts!!!! The theatre up here has been under renovation all summer, so I haven't seen Inception. I will. One critique if I may. Don't begin so many sentences and phrases in the same piece with "while".

Bank,

I think this is a solid piece. The final few paragraphs are strong and convey your point well. I understand what you were going for with the use of the word "batshit" early in the piece, but I think you are strong enough to convey the same point without having to go there. You make some good points about celebrity and the line between what is real and fake and even their own perception of that line. However, I don't know if I agree Mel has "[thrown] it all away". He recently went on Larry King and also took his lumps on The View. Clearly, he knew what could be lost without a quick solution. But, as you so keenly pointed out, people understand who he is, and not unlike athletes who have erred, he will be forgiven and will again produce/direct/act in epic films....although he may first have to suffer through the sequel to What Women Want.

I like all your predictions. Joe Johnson will be the first one to chase the max deal which he does not deserve. Frankly only LBJ, and Wade deserve max deals because only those 2 players can carry a team on their backs.

My Predictions

Knicks: Bosh and LBJ
Nets: David Lee and Joe Johnson (if he does not go to the Clippers)
Heat: Wade and Amare
Mavs: Dirk
Clippers: Joe Johnson
Utah: Boozer

Knicks: Hobson or Brackins. I see the Knicks trading up in the 20's (TWOLVES) for one of them.
Knicks: Trading for Rudy Fernandez (Wilson Chandler)

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is perfect as it is and a sequel would ruin it.
